Mast Maula, Mast Kalandar

शामे मलंग सी रातें सुरंग सी बागी उड़ान पे ही ना जाने क्यूँ इलाही मेरा जी आये आये इलाही मेरा जी आये आये ~ Illahi, Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani ~~ Amitabh Bhattacharya There were a lot of German bakeries in Leh, but the ekdum original one was the one run by a sweet-natured Sikh gentleman, who has a German wife. Their coffee and their breads are the best and they are rated very highly on Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet. So a visit to Leh is incomplete for a tourist without a meal here.  It was one of Treya's favorite Sunday places to go to, and Aman really liked it too. So when they decided they need to talk, they both agreed to go grab a bite and sip on coffee at the bakery while they both caught up on each other's lives and maybe talk about what they really wanted to ask each other. They sat down at a table outside and ordered for bread and some pancakes and 2 cups of coffee. "So" Aman said. "No, I get to talk first!" said Treya, "How on earth d...

She had her routine. She loved leh, it was beautiful throughout the year. The winters were unbearable though. June to November were the busy months with loads of tourists. They were also the best times to visit Ladakh. Ladakh literally means  "the land of high passes". It lies embedded between the Kunlun mountain range in the north and the great Himalayas in the south. And in between the lands that lay between these mountains flowed the ancient Indus, starting from Tibet and twisting it's way towards Pakistan and eventually India. Am...

The day he was to leave, he was anxious and didn't know the reason. It's that feeling of you're leaving something behind, was it any paerticular thing of his, he checked his camera, his lens, got his phone, checked all the drawers and peeped under the bed. Yup, it was all packed and safe. Then what was this feeling. Maybe, it was just  travel anxiety. But he always looked forward to flights and airports, so it couldn't be travel related. In fact he was looking forward to going to Delhi. There was a wedding shoot starting tomorrow. He sighed and threw up his hands in the air, picked u...

Monsoon Wedding

Technically they had seen each other years ago when they were kids, but neither remembered that and so when they saw each other at this wedding, it was almost like the first time. That day, on that mehendi ceremony, Bangalore was pouring and thankfully the ceremony was inside. People talk about Mumbai in the monsoons and how gorgeous she is. But monsoons throughout the country is beautiful. This was Bangalore's first rain this season. Treya still remembered the date : June 21st. It was her cousin sister's wedding and she was waiting for her turn for the mehendi.  Arundhati, her cousin was sitting patiently while the mehendi girls painted her hands and her feet. The house was an old bunglow decorated with man...
