Delhi Belly.

The first time I was introduced to Delhi Belly was earlier on this year when I saw the trailer at a theater. It looked bad and I swore to myself I wouldn't watch it. Anyways, it released and with everyone going gaga about it, I thought it might be worth a watch. I finally booked tickets and went for the movie. Unfortunately for me (and the movie) I developed a fever that evening and didnt want to waste the ticket, so went nevertheless. Somewhere in my head I knew I will hate the movie, so I was prejudiced. So this is a prejudiced review! hell, no newspaper is paying me to write an unbiased one is it? The crux of the movie is cuss words, crassly shown sex and an extremely pathetic way of showing an indigestion problem. Throw in the old funda of smuggled Russian diamonds, dialogues that some may call "humour" and a crazy race all over the city and you have Delhi belly. The Acting I have to give it, was awesome, the casting was perfect, but what I dont get is, ...

Thanks, Dad

Do Nainaa Aur ek Kahani Thoda Sa Baadal Thoda Sa Paani Aur ek Kahani Choti Si Do Jheelon Mein Wo Behati Rehati Hai Koi Sune Ya Na Sune Kehti Rehti Hai Kuch Likh Ke Aur Kuch Zubani ~Gulzar ~~Masoom This one is devoted to my Father. You know, while growing up parents always say things to the kids and they often end their arguments with "We've grown up, crossed all the paths that you will be crossing, and we know what its like" And you often say to yourself, no way! That was a different time and these are different times, things are now different, the paths are different. And so you go on, do what you want to do. It's often happened to me. And it happened again, when I told my parents that I was dating someone. My Father wrote me an email and said a lot of things. He didnt shout, he didnt preach. But it had a nice "conversation over coffee" feel to it. And I love re-reading that email sometimes. The crux of what he said was, "I...

You Belong To Me.

See the pyramids along the Nile, Watch the sun rise on the Tropic isle Just remember darling all the while You belong to me See the marketplace in old Algiers Send me photographs and souvenirs Just remember when a dream appears You belong to me I'll be so alone without you Maybe you'll be lonesome too ~Sue Thompson/Jason Wade Pee Wee King, Chilton Price, and Redd Stewart Relationships can be so strong and yet so fragile. I have friends who met in the 10th grade and are dating each other till date and their love has only grown stronger over these years when both of them have been in different parts of the country. Nothing and no one has come in between them. They love each other with the same innocence and the intensity with which they loved each other in 2002. We were a bunch of kids then, our fathers all in the Defence services were posted together for a year for a course and when it ended we all had to part. There were loads of relationships around that...

Dheere Dheere Dil Mein Mere Aa Gayi Toh Cha Gayi Teri Aarzoo Raahon Mein Nighahoo Mein Mere Char Su Ab Hai Tu Hi Tu ~ Javed Akhtar ~~ Kyun! Ho Gaya Na Coorg, is called India's Scotland. And rightly so. For as far as your eyes can stretch, the horizon and beyond is just rolling hills with coffee plants or paddy fields. And when the coffee plants blossom, and the air is heavy with a sweet jasmine-like fragrance, and it's white everywhere, it is heaven. You can just stand at the edge of the estate and look around and feel content like you have achieved everything in life and it is perfect the way it is. Siddharth was one of the few lucky ones to be born in this life filled with beauty in Coorg. His parents had everything in life and when they had Siddharth, they had achieved everything and more. Siddharth, means someone who has found the meaning of existence: Siddha (gotten) - Arth (meaning), his parents thought it was perfect for them and him. Siddhar...

Aarohi

Mann yeh sahib ji Jane hai sab ji Phir bhi banaye bahane Naina nawabi ji Dekhe hai sab ji Phir bhi na samjhe ishare Mann yeh sahib ji Haan karta bahane Naina nawabi ji Na samjhe ishare ~~ Sameer, Priya Panchal ~~ Shor in the city We all have often heard the phrase "Love at First Sight", loads of us have lived it. When girls are young they grow up thinking about the perfect one. Aarohi was one of them. More so because her parents were in love before they got married. Lt. Aditya Mathur was the adjutant to Maj. Gen Sheikh when he met Aarohi's mother, Aalia. Aalia was a beautiful singer and took classical music lessons. And when Aditya came home int he evenings for work to visit Gen Sheik, he heard her. The first time around, he came home to hand over some papers and discuss the a project and suddenly he heard a female voice, it was like the Jhelum in Kashmir, calm, sweet and flowing beautifully. The house suddenly seemed radiant with that voice, j...

Bole Chudiyaan..

Bole chudiyan, Bole kangna Hai main ho gayi Teri saajna Tere bin jiyo naiyo lagda Main te margaiya Le jaa le jaa, Dil le jaa le jaa Soniye le jaa le jaa, ho ~~ Sameer ~Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham Fiza, was born in spring in the Kashmir valley. It was only fitting that she be named Fiza after Nature. Her father was commanding an infantry regiment there. Colonel Ray was everything that an Infantry CO (commanding officer) is made out to be. He was strict, a disciplinarian, a brilliant student himself, he didn't tolerate mediocrity. His wife, a bengali like him, was a beautiful lady and a talented dancer. Fiza came to imbibe and possess both these attributes and characteristics. Being a Leo she was also fiercely stubborn, witty, moody and a crowd puller. Everyone loved her. She was a perfect student, a perfect daughter and a loyal friend. Fiza learned early to not miss her father when he went out on Operations or was posted in "fields". In the Army, post...

Dilwale Dulhaniya..

"Na jaane mere dil ko kya ho gaya Abhi to yahin tha, abhi kho gaya Ho gaya hai tujkho to pyaar sajna Laakh kar le tu inkaar sajna Dildaar sajna, hai yeh pyaar sajna" ~~Anand Bakshi ~Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge If you grew up in the 90s in India and were a Bollywood fan, you would definitely have watched DDLJ and wished Shah Rukh and Kajol were married in real life. Simran was one such girl. When DDLJ released in October in 1995, Simran was only 10 years old. Her father, a Major in the Indian Army came home one evening and called her name. "Simran, Sim Run!" he said. One of Simran's favorite-est moments in the day was her fathor returning home at 5:30pm from work. She came running, her mom joined her from the kitchen, she was eager too! When the two lights of Maj. Khanna's life, were in front of him, he grinned and held up tickets. These weren't jazzy tickets from INOX or PVR or the other cinema houses. These were tickets from the Army Op...
